About The Run

Bush to Beach Run 2027

Bush to Beach Run 2027 is a personal endurance challenge led by Bronx Goodwin in support of the Beat the Burn initiative by Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters.

This is a solo long-distance run across New South Wales, created to raise funds and awareness for children who have suffered serious burn injuries and are undergoing treatment and recovery at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead Burns Unit.

The full journey will cover hundreds of kilometres, with the route and progress shared closer to the event and throughout the challenge.

This is not a competitive race or organised public event, it is a personal commitment to push physical and mental limits in support of children and families facing some of the most difficult recovery journeys imaginable.

Why it exists

As a firefighter, I’ve seen firsthand the impact burn injuries have on children and their families.

As a former professional athlete, I understand endurance, discipline, and pushing through discomfort.

Bush to Beach brings those two parts of my life together, to create something physically demanding that can be used to support something far more important than sport or achievement.

The cause

All funds raised through this campaign support the Beat the Burn initiative, a firefighter-led charity program that raises funds for:

  • Specialist burn treatment and care

  • Life-saving medical equipment

  • Research improving recovery outcomes

  • Support services for children and families during long hospital stays
